Licenses
Overview
Runeon includes open-source software so it can prepare a Windows Steam container, run the Steam client, provide graphics translation options, and collect optional redacted diagnostics. Runeon itself is proprietary software. The third-party components listed here remain under their own licenses, and Runeon does not limit the rights those licenses give you.
This page covers software bundled with Runeon or its Steam Baseline runtime. It does not cover third-party services such as Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare, Resend, Apple sign-in, Google sign-in, Steam, or game publishers. Those services are described in Runeon's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

If you need corresponding source materials for a Runeon release, contact support@runeon.app and include the Runeon version number shown in the app. Runeon will provide the source materials or source location required for that release for the period required by the applicable license.
Nothing in Runeon's own license or Terms restricts reverse engineering where an open-source license permits it, including debugging modifications to LGPL-covered components.
Not distributed by Runeon
Runeon does not distribute these components:
- Apple Game Porting Toolkit, D3DMetal.framework, libd3dshared.dylib, or Apple private D3DMetal PE overlays. If setup requires Apple graphics components, the user must provide them from their own local Apple-provided installation.
- Valve Steam client. Runeon installs Windows Steam into the user's Runeon-managed container from Valve's distribution endpoints. Steam remains subject to Valve's terms.
- Games, launchers, DRM systems, anti-cheat systems, game saves, or game publisher services. Those remain controlled by their respective owners.
